"Today’s bomb threat at MVHS was a false alarm," Mount Vernon Schools Superintendent Kenneth Hamilton said in a statement released just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday. "Dr. Gonzales and the exceptional MVHS leadership team were able to swiftly implement the emergency response protocols. MVPD and MVFD were swift to respond and provided the necessary resources to ensure safety for staff and students. The anonymous call is being fully investigated by local and federal authorities. We expect with new technology, we will be able to trace the blocked call and hold the appropriate person(s) fully accountable for this extraordinary use of emergency response resources."
