FBI, MVPD Make Arrest In Devil's Eve Shooting Of Tuckahoe Man

Federal special agents and police detectives report finding a a loaded .45 caliber handgun during a search of the suspect's home.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A suspect in the shooting of a Tuckahoe man was arrested by Mount Vernon police and members of the FBI Westchester Safe Streets Task Force on Friday.

Detectives identified 31-year-old Anthony Reese of Mount Vernon as the gunman in the October 30, shooting of a Tuckahoe man. Reese’s criminal history includes arrests for weapons possession, assault and robbery, according to police officials.

In the early morning hours on the day before Halloween, police were called to a shooting in the area of the 100 block of East First Street. Officers found a 37-year-old Tuckahoe man with a single gunshot wound in his right shoulder. The victim was treated at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx and later discharged.

On Friday, a team of detectives and federal agents executed a search warrant at Reese’s home. A loaded .45 caliber handgun was recovered during the search, according to police. Reese was taken into custody at the time. He was later arraigned in Mount Vernon City Court on Assault and Weapons Possession charges.
