Heat, Broken Building Closes Mount Vernon Court
The city hasn't repaired the building, where air conditioning hasn't worked since September, state officials said.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — City Hall isn't the only thing that's not working in Mount Vernon.
Court shut down early Thursday because of excessive heat, The Journal News reported. Temperatures reached into the high 80s by midday.

The city has also refused to fix its broken sewage system, which often backs up into people's houses.
The city has not turned over some of the taxes it collected for the school district as well, school officials said.

Even the renovation of once-famed Memorial Field hasn't happened, even though Westchester County agreed to pay for most of the work as long as the city cleaned up the tons of contaminated dirt a previous administration allowed to be dumped there. The city hasn't done it.
