YONKERS, NY — A man was killed overnight in a car crash that happened while he was apparently hanging on to the hood of a car driven by a woman believed to be his girlfriend, police said.
Police arrived at the scene of the fatal car accident that happened just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Investigators said a 43-year-old woman drove a 2012 Subaru Forrester southbound from the 100 block of Stanley Avenue with a 42-year-old male victim apparently on the hood of the vehicle. The car eventually crashed into the north side of the Eugenia Maria De Hostos Microsociety School resulting in the death of the man on the hood and injuries to the driver.
Investigators believe that the victim and driver were in a domestic relationship and that alcohol may have been involved.
