Mount Vernon 4-Year-Old Killed By Car

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Four-year-old Megan Gouvea De Freitas died Monday afternoon when she and her mother were hit by a car, The Journal News reported. The collision took place in the 200 block of N. Fifth Avenue at 4:57 p.m.

The mother, 42, was hospitalized in critical condition, TJN said. The driver, also a Mount Vernon resident, stayed at the scene.
