Mount Vernon Man Accused of Illegal Dumping In Yonkers

YONKERS, NY — An off-duty Yonkers policeman saw someone dumping a bunch of leaky, rusty paint cans on a grassy area on Sweetfield Circle near Cypress Street on Monday evening.
The officer checked it out and called it in, and he and the captain on duty arrested the man.
Juan Valdovinos, 40, of Mount Vernon, now faces a charge of illegal dumping.

“The Yonkers Police Department is committed to these proactive efforts in fighting illegal dumping in Yonkers, and ensuring our streets remain clean," Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said in a statement. "Even while off duty, our officers keep a vigilant eye out for illegal conduct of any kind.”
This case is being prosecuted by the City of Yonkers Corporation Counsel.
