Notorious Fugitive 2020 Murder Suspect Caught In Charlotte: YPD
Yonkers police said that federal agents helped to find the man wanted for the broad daylight fatal shooting of a man on the street.

YONKERS, NY — Wanted murder suspect Jerome Wilson has been captured in North Carolina.
Jerome Wilson was wanted for the August 2020 Oak Street shooting of Chazz Mitchell, according to Yonkers Police and the FBI. He was apprehended Monday in North Carolina. Yonkers Police Department detectives, working with the FBI's Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, tracked Wilson to a residence in Charlotte, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Wilson faces murder charges in the broad daylight shooting death of Chazz Mitchell that took place on August 25, 2020, on Oak Street. Yonkers police released disturbing security footage of the shooting.

In August of 2021, the Yonkers Police Department and the FBI marked the one-year anniversary of the coldblooded slaying of a man on a Yonkers street by reminding the public that the suspect wanted in the killing is armed, dangerous and still at large. A cash reward was offered for information leading to his arrest
