Officer Hurt In Crash Responding To Shooting: MVPD
The police officer suffered minor injuries after hitting a tree. The ATF will assist in the investigation into the shooting.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Just after 9 a.m., Mount Vernon police were called to North Bond Street for a report that a man had been shot.
An officer was injured responding to the scene when, police say, a car pulled out in front of him, causing the police officer to hit a tree trying to avoid the car. The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
The shooting victim, identified as Michael Kinlaw of Yonkers, was shot in the upper back. The 52-year-old is being treated at Jacobi Medical Center, where he is said to be in stable condition.

Mount Vernon Police detectives are handling the investigation with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
The Mount Vernon Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510. All calls will be kept confidential. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the police department's "Text- A-Tip" program by texting “MVPD” and the completely anonymous tip to 8474011.
