The 2021 Porsche Macan recovered by Yonkers police was reported as stolen from Great Meadows, New Jersey the day before.

YONKERS, NY — Everybody loves NY (it's even printed on t-shirts), but when traveling in a car that has been reported stolen, it's probably best to avoid the City of Yonkers.
Yonkers police say that on Monday evening, they received a call from a car dealership tracking a stolen 2021 Porsche Macan that had entered Yonkers. The car was reported as stolen from Great Meadows, New Jersey on Sunday.
Officers Pete Denyssenko and Virginia Creary, from the 4th Precinct, saw the Porsche parked on Nepperhan Ave. and kept an eye on it from a distance, waiting for the unauthorized driver to return to the car.

After nearly a half-hour, they saw a man approach the stolen car and unlock it with a key fob, at which point, the police officers moved in to apprehend him. He fled on foot as Officer Denyssenko chased him, while Officer Creary pursued in a police car, cutting the man off just around the corner.
The man wisely decided to surrender himself and was taken into custody by the officers. The stolen car and key fob were returned to the owner.
