Woman's Body Discovered in Vestibule Of Mount Vernon Home

The mystery deepens and answers are few after a woman's body was found at the front door of a house in a normally quiet neighborhood.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Despite reports that the body of a young woman found in the front vestibule of a Mount Vernon home showed unmistakable signs of violence, police have so far declined to suggest foul play.

Meanwhile, the mysterious circumstances of the 24-year-old woman's death have a community looking for answers.

At 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the Mount Vernon police say they received a call about an unresponsive woman in the front vestibule of 165 Summit Ave. Police found the body of the woman inside the front entry to the home.

The body was taken by the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office. Police have not yet released the identity of the dead woman and are referring to the case simply as an "unattended death" investigation.

The Mount Vernon Police Department Detective Division is in charge of the investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Detective Division at 914-665-2510.
