Wrong-Way Driver ID'd In Bronx River Parkway Crash
The head-on collision at 3 a.m. sent 7 people to the hospital and snarled southern Westchester traffic into the rush hour.
A 35-year-old New York City man was responsible for the wrong-way crash on the Bronx River Parkway at 3:13 a.m. Friday, Westchester County Police said. It sent seven people to the hospital and snarled traffic in southern Westchester for hours.
Diego Caceres drove south in the northbound lanes and smashed head-in into another car near the Desmond Avenue bridge in Yonkers, police allege.
He is charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st, a felony; and Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving, misdemeanors.

The other car contained six people from Florida – five members of a family and a family friend. They range in age from 15 to 50.
All seven were taken to Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The BRP was closed northbound for six hours, causing massive delays during the morning rush hour. Traffic was diverted onto the Cross County Parkway.
Due to his injuries, the driver has yet to be arraigned or booked on the charges, county police said.
