Yonkers Man Savagely Beat His Mother's Boyfriend
The 33-year-old beat a man in his 60s unconscious, first with a piece of wood from a broken piece of furniture, then with a clothing iron.
YONKERS, NY — A Yonkers man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for assaulting and robbing another Yonkers resident. Shawn Weaver, 34, attacked his mother's boyfriend and beat him unconscious, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. said.
The incident took place March 16, 2018, inside a Yonkers apartment where both the victim and his girlfriend lived and where her adult son would sometimes stay. At 11:20 p.m., the victim, a man in his sixties, was counting the money from his pockets before preparing for bed. His girlfriend was already sleeping.
Weaver approached the victim and accused him of hitting or pushing his mother. The victim denied the allegation and Weaver began to beat him, first with a piece of wood from a broken piece of furniture, then with a clothing iron.
