• Westchester reminds landlords in certain ZIP codes of mandatory lead registration (westfaironline.com) — If you own a pre‑1980 rental building with two or more units in Mount Vernon's 10550 ZIP code, you must register with Lead Safe NY and complete regular lead inspections. Westchester County is stressing that this requirement is mandatory to protect children from long‑term health damage caused by lead paint and dust.
   

• Joint Venture Tops Off Construction on Mount Vernon Workforce Housing (connectcre.com) — A major 228‑unit workforce housing complex, QWest Towers, is nearing completion on North MacQuesten Parkway in Mount Vernon, bringing two new residential towers and significant investment to the city. Backed by state and county housing programs plus Mount Vernon IDA incentives, the first tower should open later this year, with the second following within months.
