Mele's Election Watch Party

"I love Nanuet- they're my neighbors, they have given me great support."

Anthony Mele is running for Repuplican nomination for Congress for District 17 against York Kleinhandler, and on Tuesday night spirits were high at the Pearl River Hilton for his Meet and Greet and Campaign watch party.

Mele has very strong supporters. Jeanine Vecchiarelli said, "We are completely grassroots... [Mele] is a very strong candidate who has been very well received." She also said, "We don't regret our time or effort that has been put in, and our country will be a better place when Tony [Mele] is in Congress."

Mele himself had great things to say about Nanuet. "I love Nanuet- they're my neighbors, they have given me great support." He spoke about his involvement with his expertise in school shootings, advocating getting out of the building as opposed to hiding under desks, and taught a seminar about peer pressure called "Cool or Fool, Fight or Flight" about peer pressure in schools.

Mele worked for Defense Intelligence in the Army, and later worked for the Chief of Staff at the Pentagon. He also offers a solution for the issue about the Mosque at Ground Zero. On his website, www.meleforcongress.com:

"The resolution will be found in another location. The other location can be found exactly at 1711 3rd Ave. in Manhattan where there already is an Islamic Cultural Center that is in dire need of refurbishment... The symbolism here can be found in all of the interested parties cooperating to improve this particular Islamic Center instead of the redundancy of building a new one anywhere else. All parties should follow the example of the Prophet Mohamed [pbuh] who has in this day and time presented us with a solution to the same argument he resolved in his own day and time. The outcome would be a new appreciation for Islam by non-Muslims as was the original intent."
