• Nanuet Bank Robber Arrested Less Than 20 Minutes After Telling Teller He Had Gun: Cops (dailyvoice.com) — A Chase Bank on Smith Street in Nanuet was robbed Saturday morning by a man who told a teller he had a gun and fled with cash, but Clarkstown police arrested a Nanuet resident less than 20 minutes later. Officers quickly canvassed the area, used a K9 to search, and took the suspect into custody, with bail set in Clarkstown Justice Court and the man now held at Rockland County Jail.
   

• Several people displaced after fire destroys two-family home in New City (pressconnects.com) — Nanuet firefighters and EMS helped battle a major early-morning blaze that destroyed a two-family home in nearby New City, displacing at least six residents. Crews from Hillcrest, New City, Spring Valley, and Nanuet spent over an hour knocking down the fire, while Clarkstown police and the Red Cross assisted evacuees; fortunately, no injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation.
