Rockland Community College to Offer Fast Track Healthcare Courses
Rockland Community College's Suffern campus will soon offer five new courses that will prepare students for a job in healthcare.

From Rockland Community College: Jobs in healthcare are growing faster than any other industry in the country, with thousands of new positions every month. You can get on the fast track to a career as a health professional through the Continuing Education program at Rockland Community College.
Five courses are beginning soon at RCC’s Suffern campus that will prepare students for a healthcare job in a matter of weeks. Space is available in each of these classes, but interested candidates need to act fast.
A program in Dental Assisting gets underway on March 27. This 60-hour course prepares students for entry-level positions in one of the fastest-growing healthcare areas.

Two courses begin on April 1: a Phlebotomy Technician program, which prepares graduates to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis; and an EKG Technician Certification program, a comprehensive course which prepares students to take national EKG certification exams.

On April 3, an Ophthalmic Assistant program gets underway at RCC. This program trains students for entry-level positions in ophthalmology, another fast-growing segment of the healthcare industry.

Finally, May 2 marks the start of the Clinical Medical Assistant program. This comprehensive program trains students to assist physicians by performing key functions of a medical office. At the end of the classroom segment, students have the opportunity to gain direct experience through an externship with a local healthcare provider.
