Spend Thursday Nights in July at The Shops at Nanuet

Summer Concert Series continues in July with dynamic entertainment

Following its kick off in June, The Shops at Nanuet continues to offer free, live entertainment each week in July during its Summer Concert Series, sponsored by Fairway Market in association with Tiara Jewelers, Nyack Hospital and The Journal News. Music lovers of all ages are invited each week to enjoy outdoor musical entertainment from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday through September 24.

“We are thrilled to bring the Summer Concert Series back and welcome Fairway Market as a sponsor of this program at The Shops at Nanuet for a second year,” commented Briana Puncar, director of mall marketing and business development for The Shops at Nanuet. “Since the series kicked off, we’ve already seen people of all ages come equipped with lawn chairs and their love of music, ready to take advantage of our beautiful setting, terrific line-up of bands and retailer hosted events and samples. We are just getting warmed up and look forward to welcoming people to spend Thursday nights with us in July.”

The Summer Concert Series at The Shops at Nanuet is free entertainment, open to the public and takes place on Fashion Drive, which will be closed to vehicular traffic between Kay Jewelers and the plaza.

To make it a great experience, the following Insider Tips will help concert goers during visits:

  1. Seating is limited so event attendees are encouraged to bring their own folding chairs.
  2. While Fashion Drive is closed, it is recommended that guests park in the back of the property and use the escalator by Regal Cinemas to access shops and the concert area.
  3. Guests can arrive early, stay late and take advantage of an array of special food sampling by the center’s restaurants and eateries, which will vary each week.

On Thursday, July 2, the New York Blood Center will host a drive from 12 to 6 p.m. Donors must be at least 16 years old with parental permission (visit www.nybloodcenter.org for required form); and weigh 110 pounds (there are additional height/weight requirements for donors under 19). Donors must wait for one year after their most recent tattoo or a piercing; eat and drink BEFORE they donate and bring valid identification. Donors over 76 years of age must provide a note from their physician certifying that they are in good health and may donate blood. Each presenting donor will receive a voucher for one FREE Regal movie ticket.

The Summer Concert Series will include performances from the following bands in July:

  • July 2 – The Jam Cats: A four- piece rock band that plays tunes spanning from the 70’s to the 2000’s, The Jam Cats always look to energize the crowd by interacting with the audience, sometimes coming down from the stage and dancing and singing along with them.
  • July 9 – Better Than Bowling: Showcasing an uncommon blend of rock and roll, R&B, blues and classic rock, Better Than Bowling’s motto is “It’s our job to make life fun…for a couple of hours, anyway.” The ensemble entertains with original music and covers by Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison and more.
  • July 16 – Island Soul: Island Soul brings the music and sunshine of the Islands wherever they go. Concert attendees will enjoy the Tropical Rhythms that include Reggae, Soca, Calypso and the joyful sounds of the Steel Pans.
