Trash Cans, Walkway Set on Fire at Lake Congers

A report about a suspicious fire brought Clarkstown police officers to Congers Lake. They saw a trash can on fire—and the surrounding decking of the walkway was also burning.
Congers Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze.
They found a second trash can burning some 200 yards down the trail from the first fire, which was also extinguished.

The damage is estimated to be in excess of $1,000.

The incident is being investigated by the Clarkstown Detective Bureau and the Clarkstown Fire Inspector. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Tips Line at 1-877-639-6233 or the Clarkstown Detective Bureau at 845-639-5840.
