2 Killed in Apparent Washington Heights Murder-Suicide: Police
Police found two people with gunshot wounds to the head, one self-inflicted, in a Washington Heights apartment Monday night.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Two people are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide that took place Monday night in Washington Heights.
Police responded to a call of an assault in progress at an apartment building on West 180th Street near Fort Washington Avenue around 11:20 Monday night, police told Patch. When officers entered an apartment in the building they found two people — a 22-year old woman and a 26-year-old man — with gunshot wounds to the head, police said. EMS declared both victims people on the scene, police said.
The gunshot wound on the 26-year-old man appeared to be self-inflicted, indicating a murder-suicide, police said.

A semi-automatic firearm was recovered from the crime scene, police said.
Neither victim has been identified and the NYPD is still investigating, police told Patch.
