7 Reasons Why Yankee Fans Should Not Be Worried
Here are 7 reasons why Yankee fans should sit back and relax. There is still a long season to be played.

1. Giancarlo Stanton Always Starts Off Slow
This is a PSA to all Yankee fans. Stop booing this man right now. Yes he has gotten off to an historic bad start with two platinum sombreros (5 strikeouts in one game), and yes Yankee fans have been historic "booers" to players who have not earned their stripes yet. Yankee fans have even booed Derek Jeter once or twice in his career. However, Giancarlo, Mike, Stanton will make every fan that boos him regret doing that by mid may. He is not an Aaron Judge type hitter where he will go up there, work the count, and get a lot of walks to compliment his high strike out rate. He has been an aggressive hitter whose OPB (on base percentage has always been close to his BA (batting average). Giancarlo will make pitchers pay, and when hes hot there is arguably no hitter more feared in the league than he. This man hit 18 home-runs in one month last season and that a lot of those were in Marlins park, which is not a hitter friendly ballpark like Yankee Stadium is. So just like being patient with this team, please be patient with Giancarlo.
2. Judge/Didi Can Carry the Load

If there had to be two fan favorites in the Bronx right now, it would arguably be Aaron Judge and Didi Gregarious. They both are batting over .330 and have an OPS higher than 1.000. Also they are getting on base almost 50 percent of the time! However, just as Giancarlo has a long way to prove himself, so do these two. It is still early in the season but you cant help to realize that these two will be the heart and soul of the 2018 Yankees. Didi has filled, what seemed to be, impossible shoes to fill after the departure of Derek Jeter. His great defense, surprising offensive numbers (already hit more home-runs then Jetes did in 2017), and big smile has made him a great team leader. He is the most unselfish player out there along with Aaron Judge and will always credit his teammates to his success. Don't believe that, just go look at his twitter account. After every win he shouts different teammates for their great games. Even when he his hitting 2 home-runs and 8 RBI's in one game he will credit his teammates. Then there is Aaron Judge who just became the fastest player in the History of Major League Baseball to get to 61 home-runs in their career. He is also hitting at a .230 average against sliders this year which is a big improvement from last year (the league average is .210). So as a Yankee fan who has concerns for Gary Sanchez and Giancarlo, just turn to these guys for your ray of hope.
3. In Cashmam We Trust

Call me bias, but I don't think their is a harder working general manager in the league than Brian Cashman. He has constantly found diamonds in the rough for this team to build on. With in a year he was able to rebuild an average team that was in baseball limbo with a below average farm system. Into a World series contending team with a top 5 farm system. He has made some seemingly questionable moves this off-season however with hiring a manager with no experience and not securing a reliable second baseman after trading Starlin Castro. He also passed on Mike Moustakas, who is off to a hot start this year, and the clubhouse favorite Todd Frazier who has helped our cross town rivals get to their best start in franchise history. But Cashman has proven time and time again that he knows baseball better than all of us. So again just sit back, relax, and let him do his job.
4. 2009 Started Out Very Similarly
There was a point in the 2009 season where the Yankees were 15-17 and this was in the middle of May. This was after a huge off-season and high expectations. Just like this year, fans were not happy. That changed though in October when the Yankees won their 27th championship. They were even able to win the division by 10 games after that slow start. So even though the Red Sox are off to a hot start. Just keep remembering that it is April and there is a lot of baseball still to be played.
5. Injury Bug Will Be Cured
A sports fan should never use injury as an excuse for their teams poor performance. It is part of the game and every team should have a "next man up" mentality". However, fantasizing about a healthy Yankee lineup is only natural. The Yankees started the season with 5 outfielders injured along with 3 infielders. This included Greg Birds highly anticipated break out season, the fast rising Aaron hicks and Clint Frazier and also newly acquired Brandon Dury. Fortunately though these injuries are not to sever. So by June, pending any huge injury to a major player, this lineup should be ready to make pitchers want to go home early.
6. The Bronx Zoo
This weather stinks. It has made baseball attendance at all northern ballparks abysmal. There is still a crowd at Yankee stadium but the electricity just simply is not there. After last years post season, Yankee stadium was finally as loud and exciting as it once was in the late 1990's and early 2000's. This stadium has been called corporate and boring. However something changed last October. With a new young and exciting team there is something special in the air. Once this weather starts to be just a little bit warmer the Bronx Zoo will be released in the Bleachers. From Beer shower home-runs, to running across the outfield gardens, this stadium is about to have a playoff atmosphere in June.
7. Gleyber Torres
If you do not know who Gleyber Torres is, trust me, you will soon. With such low production at both second and third base this year. It is only a matter of time before the number 5 prospect in all of baseball takes over the helm. I know that Brian Cashman is better than all of us and he knows best. But one can sit and wonder and logically think that this highly talented baseball player will be on the roster this year. He is dominating triple A baseball right now after being sidelined for half the year last year with Tommy- John surgery (luckily to his non throwing arm). Even though Ronald Torreyes has been doing a solid job at second base, he is just not the spark plug that this team needs right now. And once Brandon Dury is back at third, second base will be a top priority. And the answer is right in Scranton with Gleyber Torres.
