NYC Cash Flow Fears Loom Even As Nonprofits Secure Payments (patch.com) — New York City nonprofits will receive billions in scheduled July 1 payments after Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration backed off a plan to delay funding, easing fears for groups serving vulnerable New Yorkers. City Council leaders, including Speaker Julie Menin, still plan an oversight hearing into the city’s cash flow problems, as officials warn of structural budget imbalances that could affect New York’s finances going forward.
4. Brooklyn landlords hid rent-stabilized units from tenants, NY attorney general says (gothamist.com) — New York City renters should know the state attorney general has sued two Brooklyn landlords, alleging they hid rent-stabilized status and overcharged tenants in Crown Heights and Ocean Hill buildings. The suits seek to restore rent stabilization, refund overpayments with interest, and impose penalties under a new program enforcing “de facto” rent stabilization across the city.

Mayor Mamdani launches new website ahead of Thursday's Knicks ticker-tape championship parade (amny.com) — New Yorkers planning to celebrate the Knicks’ championship parade on Thursday can now use nyc.gov/knicks for up-to-date details on the route, timing, viewing spots, and transit. The free ticker-tape parade starts at 10 a.m. June 18 near Battery Park, runs up Broadway’s Canyon of Heroes, and ends at City Hall.
