New York Cares, New York City's largest volunteer network, is inviting Swifties to help pack 2,200 backpacks with school supplies for New York City students at "Giving Era," a Taylor Swift-inspired volunteer event on Thursday, July 30, at P.S. 20M – Anna Silver in Manhattan.
Inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's recent wedding donation to New York Cares, the Eras-themed event will feature Taylor Swift music, friendship bracelet trading, exclusive "JUST&T MARRIED!" enamel pins for every volunteer, and limited-edition event T-shirts available with onsite donations. The couple's generosity has already inspired more than 700 Swifties across 45 states and nine countries to donate more than $20,780, transforming one charitable gift into a growing movement of giving and volunteerism.
The event kicks off Stand with Students, New York Cares' seventh annual back-to-school campaign, which provides students with backpacks, school supplies, and year-round academic support. Through September, New York Cares will host backpack-packing events across the city with the goal of distributing 26,400 backpacks while raising $1M to support students throughout the school year.
