Henri Will Hit Close To NYC, LI Hurricane Watch Issued
Tropical Storm Henri is expected to just barely miss New York City this weekend — but the city is still under a hurricane local statement.

NEW YORK CITY — Tropical Storm Henri will just barely miss New York City as it makes landfall this weekend — but that doesn't mean the city will be spared its heavy rains and winds.
The city is under a hazardous weather outlook and a hurricane local statement starting Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Most severe weather likely will develop Sunday afternoon as the storm hits Long Island and southern Connecticut, and makes a glancing blow — at worst — at New York City, forecasters warn.

New York City, at least for now, appears to be spared the worst. But its proximity to the storm's center could make for a wet, windy weekend.
