These Are The 10 'Most Anticipated Restaurants' In NYC
Eater New York recently released its list of the "most anticipated restaurants" set to open in the city this spring.
NEW YORK CITY — There might be no industry that has felt the force of the coronavirus pandemic more than restaurants, however in the face of the ongoing pandemic, a number of New York City eateries continue putting out opening dates in the coming months.
Eater New York, an online publication focused on the city's restaurant industry, recently published a list of "NYC's Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings of Spring 2021."
Food experts from the website put together a list of 10 new restaurants expected to open that range from fine dining in Lower Manhattan to tacos on the Upper West Side to a bakery in Williamsburg.

7 Grain Army: 88 Roebling Street at North 7th Street, Williamsburg

- Matthew Tilden, the chef who ran the popular Bed-Stuy bakery Scratchbread, is bringing his second project to Williamsburg. The restaurant will include coffee, kombucha, baked good, and dog treats. It is expected to open "very, very soon," according to Eater.
Daughter: 1090 St. John's Place, near Kingston Avenue, Crown Heights
- The new cafe comes with a list of philanthropic goals, including a free "family meal" each afternoon, 10 percent of its monthly proceeds heading to charities and 20 percent of its yearly profits going to a local resident in need of start-up funding. It is expected to open in February.
Sarashine Horii: 45 East 20th Street, between Broadway and Park Avenue, Flatiron District
- Yoshinori Horii is bringing a Tokyo noodle shop to Manhattan. Horii is a ninth-generation soba make who will be making the same buckwheat noodles his family has been making since 1789. It is expected to open in March or April.
Lolo's Taco Shack: 2799 Broadway, at West 108th Street, Upper West Side
- A Caribbean-Cape Cod seafood spot from restaurateur Leticia Skai Young-Mohan and chef Raymond Mohand is bringing tacos to the Upper West Side. They are also the wife and husband duo behind Harlem's Lolo's Spicy Crab. It is expected to open in April.
One White Street: 1 White Street, near West Broadway, Tribeca
- A former Eleven Madison Park wine director and ex-chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris are joining together to open a new fine-dining restaurant in Tribeca. The eatery will be housed in a three-story townhouse that was once used by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It is expected to open in April.
Dame: 87 MacDougal Street, Near Bleecker Street, West Village
- After a successful stint in the West Village as a pop up this summer, Dame will return to the neighborhood this spring as a full-service restaurant. The eatery will focus on English classics, including fish and chips dishes. The restaurant is expected to open in late May or early June.
Electric Burrito: Address not yet announced, East Village
- Electric Burrito is bringing chorizo, chipotle portobello mushroom, carnitas, and french fries to the East Village. The new restaurant will also serve special canned hard seltzers that have been adapted from cocktails. The restaurant opening date has not been specified.
Em Vietnamese Bistro: 57 Front Street, between Main and Dock Streets, Dumbo
- Originally planned for the fall of 2019, chef Ly Nguyen and Patrick Lin are bringing their second Vietnamese restaurant to Dumbo this spring. The menu will feature Vietnamese-style tapas, noodles, and seafood dishes. The restaurant opening date has not been specified.
Figaro Cafe: 184-186 Bleecker Street, at MacDougal Street, Greenwich Village
- If you feel like you recognize the name, it's because you do. Restaurateur Mario Skaric is heading the cafe, which will pay homage to the original Le Figaro Cafe that lived on Bleecker Street for more than 50 years, according to the New York Post. The restaurant closed in 2008. The restaurant opening date has not been specified.
Pavillion: One Vanderbilt Avenue, at East 42nd Street, Midtown
- Fine dining chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud is bringing a new fine-dining seafood restaurant to Midtown Manhattan. The eatery will be open in the One Vanderbilt skyscraper located next to Grand Central Terminal. The restaurant might not open until the summer.
