The summer seafood favorite is only in season for a few months a year, but the time is now.

Steak 'N Lobster (129 West 29th Street)

The recently opened Chelsea-based restaurant only serves 100% traceable and sustainable Maine lobsters. The options for the seafood are endless, with restaurant goers getting to choose from Lobster Bisque ($9), Lobster Cream Puffs ($8), grilled or steamed whole Maine lobsters ($20), New England Lobster Rolls ($20), and a crowd favorite Lobster Mac and Cheese ($20).
Zauo (152 West 24th Street)
This lobster experience might not be for the faint of heart, but at this Japanese restaurant customers can fish for their own dinner. The patrons can then choose in what way they want the lobster cooked, options include boiled, steamed or tempura-fried.
For an additional $8, the lobster can be stuffed with salmon and mayo.

DaDong (3 Bryant Park)
The upscale Chinese restaurant takes a tasty step away from the traditional way lobster is served. Celebrity chef Dong Zhenxiang crafts up a "Hot and Spicy" lobster, featuring a 2.5 pound whole lobster stir-fried with dried chili's, garlic, ginger and scallion for $98.

Any Michelin-rated restaurant that serves lobster is most likely worth the splurge, and National Lobster Day is a great excuse to do just that. Executive Chef George Mendes uses Portuguese styled cuisine to put a spin on all the dishes on his menu.
