NEW YORK, NY — The New York Giants are set to hire Joe Judge, the New England Patriots' wide receiver coach and special teams coordinator, as their next head coach, according to ESPN.

Judge has coached for the Patriots since 2012, and he was their assistant special teams coach for three years and special teams coordinator for four years. In 2018, he was promoted to become the Patriots' receivers coach.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants are finalizing a deal that was "in the works" on Monday night.

Judge has three Super Bowl rings as a member of coach Bill Belichick's staff in New England. He also spent three seasons with coach Nick Saban at Alabama, from 2009 to 2011.

The Giants also have received permission from the Dallas Cowboys to speak with former head coach Jason Garrett regarding the offensive coordinator position on Judge's staff, sources told ESPN's Ed Werder on Tuesday.
