NY1 Anchorwomen Demand To See Pat Kiernan’s Contract: Report

Lawyers for five NY1 anchorwomen requested Kiernan's contract as part of an age and gender bias lawsuit against the channel, a report says.

NEW YORK CITY — The contract for one New York City’s most prominent newsmen is a sticking point in an ongoing gender and age bias lawsuit filed by five of his female colleagues.

Five NY1 anchorwomen effectively demanded to see Pat Kiernan’s contract, according to a recent New York Post report.

The anchors — Roma Torre, Kristen Shaughnessy, Jeanine Ramirez, Vivian Lee and Amanda Farinacci — filed a lawsuit last year against NY1, accusing its management of shunting them aside for younger women and Kiernan, who is 50, the Post reported.

Their lawyer recently requested that NY1 turn over Kiernan’s contract, which they believe will show Kiernan is paid significantly more than Torre, the report states.

Kiernan is not a defendant in the lawsuit.
