NYC Subway Delays, Changes For The June 30 Commute

NEW YORK, NY — Several subway lines were delayed or had service changes during the Friday morning commute.
A track fire near the 34th Street-Herald Square station caused residual delays after northbound N and R trains were rerouted to the express line between Canal Street to 57th Street from 8:30 a.m. to about 9:15 a.m.
All 4 and 5 trains ran with delays after an earlier incident at the 86th Street station in Manhattan.

Manhattan-bound 7 trains ran express — and with delays — in Queens from Mets-Willets Point to 74th Street-Broadway after a train with mechanical problems stalled at the 90th Street-Elmhurst Avenue station.
An incident at the Whitehall Street-South Ferry station in downtown Manhattan caused delays on the B, D, N, Q and R train lines.

Broad Street-bound J and Z trains ran local from Broadway Junction to Marcy Avenue for planned work on the express line.
And the MTA warned straphangers to expect crowding on the 42nd Street shuttle platforms and trains during rush hour — construction has put track 4 out of service.
Long Island Rail Road passengers also faced delays and service changes.
The 8:10 a.m. train from Freeport on the Babylon branch ran 10 minutes late due to earlier police activity at Baldwin Station.
The 8:03 a.m. train from Valley Stream on the City Terminal Zone branch skipped Woodside Station, but service was supplemented by the 7:32 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma and the 8:10 a.m. train from Far Rockaway, which both made added stops at Woodside at approximately 8:33 a.m. and 8:52 a.m.
