NYPD Increases Security Following Deadly London Terror Attack
An NYPD spokesman said long gun teams have been deployed to three NYC locations.

NEW YORK, NY — The New York City Police Department has deployed increased security at the British Consulate, City Hall and Grand Central Terminal following a deadly attack at London Parliament, NYPD spokesman J. Peter Donald said Wednesday.
Long gun teams were sent to the three locations Wednesday, even though there is no information linking the London attack to New York City, Donald said.
London Parliament was put on lockdown Wednesday after a man drove his car into a crowd of people on nearby Westminster Bridge, crashed the car and then stabbed a police officer, the BBC reported. Three people — including the police officer and the attacker — were killed and at least 20 were injured, according to the reports.

Commons Leader David Lidington later said that the attacker had been shot by police. The BBC quoted London police saying that the event would be treated as a "terrorist incident until we know otherwise."
