NEW YORK CITY — No current NYPD officers have been added to the growing number of New Yorkers known to be part of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

But that doesn’t mean former members of New York’s finest weren’t there.

A retired NYPD cop assigned to guard Gracie Mansion and City Hall is accused of using a pipe to attack a U.S. Capitol police officer during the riot, according to an NBC New York report.

Shortly before the report, Mayor Bill de Blasio on Tuesday said some retired NYPD officers may have been at the riot — an event that is the subject of Senate hearing.

He told New York Times reporter Emma Fitzsimmons that he checked with NYPD officials on Monday for the latest on any officers who participated in the riot.

“We don’t have any example at this point of someone who still works for the city of New York being a part of that from the police department,” he said.

The list of New Yorkers who were part of the insurrection include the fur-clad son of a Brooklyn judge, an MTA worker who called in sick to attend and a Queens Republican district leader.

The former NYPD officer accused of being part of the riot is Thomas Webster, who surrendered to federal authorities upstate, according to the report. Authorities linked Webster to photos of a man accused of breaching the Capitol and assaulting police, the report states.

The riot immediately followed a speech by former President Donald Trump who repeated false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him. The mob swarmed the Capitol where congressional members and former Vice President Mike Pence were poised to certify Joe Biden’s election win over Trump.

Federal prosecutors across the United States have since charged at least 238 people in connection with their participation in the siege, which resulted in five deaths, hundreds of injuries, sent government leaders scrambling for shelter and represented the first breach of the Capitol since the War of 1812. It also led to Trump’s second impeachment and acquittal.

De Blasio said the FBI is conducting ongoing investigations and the city will keep track of any employees who were suspected to have taken part in the insurrection.
