NEW YORK CITY — New York's next governor could be an "Andrew" who's the heir to a long-running political dynasty: Gov. Andrew Cuomo, meet would-be Gov. Andrew Giuliani.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's son Andrew is mulling a 2022 run for governor, the Washington Examiner first reported.
“I plan to run,” Giuliani told the Examiner.

Andrew Giuliani is a contributor on the conservative channel Newsmax and, like his father, worked for former President Donald Trump.
But while the elder Giuliani's work for Trump led directly to the president's first impeachment and a democratic crisis over utterly debunked claims that 2020 was beset by fraud, Andrew Giuliani — a former professional golfer — kept a relatively lower profile as Trump's official "sports liaison."

Giuliani told the Examiner he believed he had the best chance to win the state from a "wounded" Democratic candidate like Cuomo, who faces numerous scandals over sexual harassment claims and accusations his administration covered up nursing home deaths.
The younger Giuliani has been in New York City's public eye for much of his life. His young antics during his father's 1994 inauguration were lampooned by the late comedian Chris Farley in a Saturday Night Live cold open.
