Video: Woman In Car Killed By Stray Bullet From Bronx Gun Battle

NEW YORK CITY — A stray bullet from a Bronx gun battle killed a woman sitting in a nearby car, police said.

Sally Y. Ntim, 23, died after being shot in the head April 12 — an apparent unintended victim of two men who exchanged gunfire along Sheridan Avenue, authorities said.

The two as-yet-unidentified men are now being sought by NYPD officers, who released video footage from the shooting.

The gun battle started about 8:40 p.m. near McClellan Street, authorities said. Video shows one man gingerly walk up to a nearby intersection behind a pair of pedestrians.

He then pulls out a gun, starts shooting and appears to try to dodge another person’s bullets.
While neither man appears to have been injured, one of their bullets hit Ntim, who sat in the passenger seat of a nearby parked car, police said.

Medics rushed her to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where she died, authorities said.
The two gunmen both ran east down McClellan Street, police said.
