1-Car Crash Oct. 28 Leads to Arrest of New City Woman

The incident took place at 7:30 p.m. on West Burda Place.

Massie Rampersad, 49, of New City, faces charges including aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony; and aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, in connection with a 1-car accident Oct. 28.

The driver was not injured, police said.

However, she failed both a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer test.

She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 1st (felony), DWI (misdemeanor), aggravated DWI (misdemeanor) and operating a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver (traffic infraction).

She was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $2,500 and she was transported to the Rockland County Jail. Her return court date is Nov. 3.
