4 Years of Raises OK'd for Clarkstown Employees
They are the second-highest-paid town employees in the state.

The Journal News reports that the Clarkstown Town Board’s outgoing Democrats approved a contract that gives town workers -- already among the highest paid in the state of New York -- raises of more than 9 percent over four years.
It covers a lot of people. The town of Clarkstown has 398 employees, and almost 300 are in the civil service union; their new contract provides better than 2 percent raises each year through 2019.
Clarkstown staff pay is high by state and regional standards, according to the Empire Center’s 2015 “What They Make” report. Clarkstown’s general staffers are the second-highest paid town employees in the state, the Empire Center reported. The only town that beats Clarkstown is neighboring Ramapo.

According to The Journal News, the Democrats kept the deal under wraps and then Supervisor-Elect George Hoehmann tried unsuccessfully to have the vote postponed.
