Arrest Made After Funds Filched From Donation Box At School
The suspect was charged with five felony counts of burglary, and several counts of petit larceny, according to Spring Valley police.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A Rockland County man is accused of not only helping himself to money from a donation bin at a storied Hudson Valley school, but also repeatedly returning to the scene of the crime to repeat the crime, according to police.
The Spring Valley Police Department says that it responded to Congregation Yeshuos Moshe Viznitz, on South Main Street, on Feb. 3, after receiving a report of a past burglary.
Police determined that the school had been unlawfully entered and that money had been stolen from a donation box.

During the investigation, police received additional reports from the school about the supsect returning to the location and unlawfully entering on four separate occasions after the initial burglary.
Investigators identified and arrested 38-year-old Gerard J. Everheart, of Spring Valley, on Monday.

He was charged with five felony counts of third-degree burglary, four misdemeanor counts of petit larceny, and one count of misdemeanor petit larceny.
Everheart was arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court, and bail was set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 secured bond, or $100,000 partially secured bond. He was then remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
