Arrest Made In School Burglary: Clarkstown Police

The man is due back in Clarkstown Justice Court Friday.

NEW CITY, NY — Clarkstown police have arrested a Monsey resident accused of a burglary at the Ashar Adolph Schreiber Hebrew Academy on New Hempstead Road. The break-in was reported Jan. 31.

Aharon Greenfeld, 34, faces felony charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny.

He was arraigned in the Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail. Greenfeld is due back in court Feb. 14.

The school, at 360 New Hempstead Road, was not occupied at the time of the burglary. The burglar gained entrance by forcing an outside door open, and then forced open many locked interior doors.
