Clarkstown Police Probe Break-In At School
The Ashar School was closed for Friday's classes before any students arrived.

NEW CITY, NY — Clarkstown police are investigating a burglary that occurred at just before midnight Thursday at the Ashar School. School staff said someone gained entrance by forcing an outside door open, and then forced open many locked interior doors.
The school, at 360 New Hempstead Road, was not occupied at the time of the burglary and it was closed for Friday's classes before any students arrived, police said.
"This appears to be a crime of opportunity with no undertones of hate," said Clarkstown PIO Norman Peters.
