The undrafted native of Boston, Mass. , has played four of his six minor league seasons in the Can-Am League, all with the Brockton Rox. Brachold, a Marist College graduate, enjoyed a career year in 2011 and was named to the Can-Am’s post-season All-Star team as well as being selected as Player-of-the-Week ending June 19.
He is expected to bring an infusion of offense into the Boulders’ lineup, as he finished fifth in the league in batting average with a .334 mark, third in homers with 18, and his 80 RBI led the league. His .570 slugging percentage was second overall and should be an exciting sight to the fans at Rockland’s home field of Provident Bank Park, where the short right field fence looms as an enticing target for the left-handed hitting slugger.
