Boulders Stop Rox, 8-6, WIth Offensive Outburst
Rockland plays Federals in double header today.

The Rockland Boulders defeated the Brockton Rox 8-6 on Thursday night at Provident Bank Park in Can-Am League baseball action.
Both teams put on an offensive showcase by combining for 14 runs on 26 hits.
The Rox got it started in the first inning, by putting together four hits off of Rockland’s starter, Ryan Knippschild, to jump out to a 3-0 lead.

The Boulders came back big in the second inning. With the bases loaded, Ray Stokes singled to score Ryde Rodriguez and Chase Weems to cut the deficit to one. Cole Kraft followed with a double to deep center field scoring Mike Richard and Stokes to give the Boulders a one run lead. Barry Wesson followed with a sacrifice fly, which brought home Kraft and made the game 5-3 in favor of Rockland.
Brockton went back to work in the fourth. With the bags packed, Brachold singled to cut the Rockland lead to one. Phillip Cuadrado would follow with an RBI groundout to tie the game at 5-5.

Rockland retook the lead in the bottom of the inning. With two outs, Norm Hutchins and Cristobal Santana acquired back-to-back hits, putting the Boulders up 7-5 and knocking Brockton’s starter, Freddy Flores, out of the game.
Brockton added another run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Cuadrado to cut the Boulders lead to 7-6.
The Boulders added to their lead in the eighth on a sacrifice fly from Crisotbal Santana, securing the club’s victory.
Adrian Martin closed it out in the ninth for his league leading 19th save.
The Boulders (16-19, 35-46) will play a double-header against the New York Federals (4-33, 14-70) today at Provident Bank Park. The first game was scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
