The Rockland Boulders say they are working with one of their neighbors, Hi-Tor Animal Care Center, to help find good homes for dogs and cats that need adopting.

Through a joint effort called “Home Plate To Your Home,”  the Boulders plan to feature dogs and cats available for adoption at all Saturday night games this season at Provident Bank Park in Pomona.

On Saturday, at the 7:05 p.m. game against the New York Federals at Provident Bank Park, the Boulders plan to host a Parade of Pets on the home team dugout.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to work in conjunction with the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center with the Home Plate To Your Home program,” said Ken Lehner, president of the Rockland Boulders.  “Thousands of families will be at Provident Bank Park this summer and we all know how dogs and cats are considered part of the family.”

In addition to the Saturday night events, the Boulders plan on alerting baseball fans about Hi-Tor on the scoreboard and through public address announcements all season long.

“We are thrilled to be able to raise our profile via a joint effort with the Rockland Boulders,” said Roberta Bangs, executive director of the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center, which is located just down the street from the baseball stadium on Firemen Memorial Drive.  “We are always looking for new ways to find new homes for our dogs and cats.  We were hoping we could partner with the team when we first heard we were going to be neighbors.”
