Caribbean Food Delights Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting of $17 Million Facility Expansion
Caribbean Food Delights executives, employees, elected officials, community leaders, and project partners gather for the ceremonial ribbon.
TAPPAN, NY — Caribbean Food Delights, the world's largest manufacturer of Jamaican patties, celebrated the official ribbon-cutting of its newly expanded production facility. The event was attended by elected officials, representatives of the Consulate General of Jamaica, business leaders, community stakeholders, employees, and partners.
This third major facility expansion, valued at approximately $17 million, includes state-of-the-art robotics technology, enhanced production capabilities, and modern workspaces designed to support continued growth, operational efficiency, and increased consumer demand.
Founded nearly five decades ago by Vincent HoSang and the late Jeanette HoSang, Caribbean Food Delights has grown from a family-owned business into a global enterprise serving customers throughout the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, and U.S. military commissaries around the world.

"As we celebrate this achievement, we honor the legacy of my parents and founders, Vincent HoSang and the late Jeanette HoSang, and reaffirm our commitment to innovation, quality, and continued growth."

"What we celebrate today did not begin with robotics, or with two hundred employees, or with a state-of-the-art facility in Tappan," said Mrs. Ariel Bowen, Officer-in-Charge of the Consulate General of Jamaica. "We must recall your humble beginnings in 1978: a modest establishment on Dyre Avenue in the Bronx, with two young Jamaicans who staked their savings and their faith on a single conviction—that quality and vision would carry them. In those early days, output was just a few hundred patties a day. This new expansion, with its advanced robotics and modern facilities, is more than a milestone for a company. It is the next chapter in a story of vision, resilience, and the very best of what Jamaicans achieve when given the opportunity. And your generosity toward our community is certainly well known and unmatched."
The project was made possible through the support of numerous partners, including Empire State Development and the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council, which provided a $2.75 million grant in recognition of the project's economic impact and commitment to job creation in New York State.
Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council Co Chairs Dr. Marsha Gordon and Dr. Kristine Young said: "Caribbean Food Delights has been an important employer and community partner in Rockland County. This expansion strengthens the company's roots in the Mid-Hudson Region, creates new opportunities for local workers, and reinforces the region's reputation as a great place for businesses to grow and thrive."
Caribbean Food Delights also recognized Bank of America for its longstanding relationship with the company and its support of the expansion project. The company expressed gratitude to former Relationship Manager Mike Cappelli, Senior Vice President Anthony Pankhurst, and the entire Bank of America team for their confidence in the company's vision and future growth.
Special recognition was also given to Jewitt Construction and the architects, engineers, contractors, and skilled professionals whose expertise and dedication helped bring the project to completion.
The expansion positions Caribbean Food Delights to meet increasing demand, enhance manufacturing capabilities, create new opportunities for growth, and continue delivering the quality products consumers have trusted for generations.
"Our slogan has always been 'Quality Is Our Priority,' and that commitment remains at the heart of everything we do," said HoSang Jordan. "We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing to serve our customers while contributing to the economic vitality of our region."
Remarks were also delivered by Rockland County Executive Ed Day; Seema Roc, representing Congressman Mike Lawler; Lyonel Calvin, representing New York State Senator, Bill Weber, and Orangetown Supervisor Teresa Kenny, all of whom offered congratulations and recognized the significance of this milestone for Caribbean Food Delights and the broader community.
