Central Nyack Resident Accused Of Attempted Murder With Car

The victim was seriously injured, Ramapo police said.

RAMAPO, NY — A Central Nyack resident is accused of intentionally hitting a man with a car in Hillcrest on Thursday, Ramapo police said.

Police were called at 3:20 p.m. about a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the Hillcrest area of town. Responding officers found a victim with serious injuries. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center by the Spring Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

The driver stayed at the scene, police said.

The Ramapo Police Department Investigations Division and the Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit determined the driver had intentionally struck the victim with his vehicle.

The 48-year-old was identified as Edward Grigsby.

He was charged with second-degree attempted murder and arraigned in the Town of Ramapo Court by the Honorable Judge Alan Straus. Bail was set at $75,000. He was turned over to the custody of the Rockland County Jail pending future court appearances.

Investigations, Rockland Paramedic Services and the Spring Hill Volunteer Ambulance
Corps.
