Child Pornography Sting Nabs Hudson Valley Man: DA

The DA's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force​ received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

STONY POINT, NY — A Rockland County man is facing dozens of felony counts after a multi-agency child pornography investigation.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced the arrest of 21-year-old Damani Steadman, of Tomkins Cove, after an eight-month investigation by the Rockland County District Attorney's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Steadman was arraigned on Friday on a sealed indictment charging him with 25 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

He was required to surrender his passport, and the matter was adjourned to February 3, for conference.

The investigation began when the Rockland County District Attorney's ICAC Task Force received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Authorities say that the results of the investigation led to the execution of several search warrants on Steadman's internet accounts, electronic devices, and home.

"My Office, working alongside our law enforcement partners, will continue to aggressively pursue anyone who exploits children," DA Walsh said. "I'm proud of the teamwork behind this investigation and our shared commitment to protecting our children and our county."

The Rockland County District Attorney's ICAC Task Force was assisted by the Stony Point Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the New York State Police.
