Clarkstown All Stars Seek Contributions From Community for World Series Trip
Players, parents and coaches will request donations on Saturday
The 13 members of the 11-12 New City Little League All Stars and their coaches receive an all-expenses paid trip to the World Series in Portland, OR. But in order to cheer them on in person, their families have to pay their own way. That support can get pricey since the Little League World Series goes from Thursday, August 11 through Wednesday, August 17.
The business community has already stepped and donated several thousand dollars to help defray of the families’ expenses. Today, uniformed players and coaches and family members will be in downtown New City asking friends, neighbors and supporters to contribute. The girls will be outside local supermarkets and parents will be approaching local business owners for donations.
Town Board Member Frank Borelli spearheaded Thursday’s Pep Rally planning and is helping with the fundraising campaign also.

“I think it’s going terrific,” said Borelli. “There’s a tremendous amount of support from the community. I think the support so far is even better than I thought it would be.”
The New City Little League is accepting the donations for the team and so far contributions have been received from:
