Clarkstown North Boys Lacrosse Falls to Harrison
After an early deficit, the Rams fought hard to come back but lost 10-6.
Clarkstown North's boy's lacrosse had another tough game on Tuesday against Harrison High School. Though they played effectively, they were unable to recover from an early deficit in the first quarter.
The Rams buckled down and closed the gap in the second and third, but they lapsed defensively in the fourth. This brought the game to a close with a score of 10-6 in favor of Harrison.
The Rams started off the first quarter by winning the draw. They then efficiently transfered into offense and penetrated to score. Unfortunately they were unable to maintain the strong start, quickly losing ground to Harrison's aggressive offense. They were also unable to keep it going on the offensive end, leaving their initial goal as the only one of the quarter. As a result, the first quarter came to a close 7-1 in favor of the Huskies.

Clarkstown had a more effective second quarter, closing the gap to four by its end. They accomplished this in part with a solid offense, scoring two more goals within the quarter. They complimented their offensive effort with an impressive improvement on the defensive end. By buckling down and hustling throughout the quarter, they kept the Huskies scoreless to close out the first half 7-3.
The Rams continued this effort in the third, fighting back to close the gap to two. The Huskies stayed aggressive on the offensive end, however the Rams smothering defense kept them to only one point in the third. On the offensive end, they were able to remain aggressive and in control of the ball to improve their position to 8-5.

Unfortunately for the Rams, this effort began to fall apart in the fourth. Harrison played tough defense, keeping Clarkstown to only one point in the quarter. The Rams had trouble defensively as well, letting up two more points. This closed out the game 10-6 Harrison.
This game brought the Rams season to 1-10. Though its been a challenging season for them, Clarkstown North still has an outside shot at the sectionals. Their goalie, David Toporek is set to help this effort as he maintained his average for the season with another 15 saves against Harrison. According to Coach Fitzgerald, "We're going to keep coming out and showing up to play. Hopefully we will get some more positive results."
The Rams are looking ahead for some of these positive results at their final league game on Saturday at home.
