The Board of Education’s special executive session March 24 dealt with a parent’s email to school officials, which turned up on Facebook page a couple of hours later.

According to lohud.com, the email was from Allison Jaynes—about an issue at Felix Festa Middle School—and Trustee Chris Conti forwarded it on to others.

The Facebook page it appeared on—with the names of her kids and their grades—is You Know You’re a Congers Congeroid.

Jaynes told The Journal News Conti’ should resign over the ethics violation.

The information was put on the Facebook page by Allison Savoury-Leuser who on March 22 posted this there:

Since I’m not on the CPSOS page please post this:

It doesn’t matter where I got the email. News flash: you can foil it all and I would’ve had it in a matter of weeks. So If you are so inclined to make accusations as to how I got the email please message me. Again, it’s all public knowledge if you take the time to investigate. I erased the messages bc I don’t want anyone’s personal info out there. But again, it’s public knowledge through a FOIL. So whether it was today or 3 weeks from now I could’ve seen this email.

The head of New York’s committee on open government said the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act protects students’ personal information.

“If it identifies a kid, it simply cannot be disclosed,“ Robert Freeman told The Journal News.
