Clarkstown Stars Team Takes Part in AAU Northeast Spring Tourney

9U team among finalists at Orange County baseball event.

The Clarkstown Stars 9U Black youth baseball team was a finalist in the inaugural AAU Northeast Spring Invitational tournament at the Rock Sports Park in Chester, NY.

Their second place finish earns them a berth in the AAU National championships to be held in Florida in June.

The Stars team beat the eventual champion PBI Eagles, 4-2, with pitchers Max Viera and Benny Partridge combining for a 2-hitter. Michael Waldron and Zachary Kahn provided the Stars runs.

In the second game, the Rhode Island Spinners came from behind to beat the Stars, 4-2. Sean Foody pitched three-innings of no-hit ball in the game, with solid fielding by Ryan Cummings and Patrick DeFeciani keeping the game close.

In the semi-finals, Sean Foody pitched four shut-out innings to again lead the Stars as they beat Long Island Stealth, 7-5. Hits by Nick Wynne and Matt Siligato led the Stars offense.

The Stars fell in the championship game, 10-2, to the PBI Eagles.

The Stars 9U team players are: Danny Blaine, Ryan Cummings, Patrick DeFeciani, Jack DeMane, Sean Foody, Zach Kahn, Benny Partridge, Thomas Quinn, Kevin Rogers, Matt Siligato, Max Viera, Michael Waldron, Nick Wynne.
