Fatal Crash Closes Route 9W: Clarkstown Cops

UPDATE 8:06 p.m. — The Clarkstown Police Department responded to the area of 259 Rt. 9W in Congers for a car accident at around 5: 20 p.m. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle died from injuries suffered in the crash.

The Clarkstown Police Accident Investigation Team is investigating the scene. Rt. 9W is closed in both directions for the next few hours.

The cause of the accident has not been determined. An update of information will be released as soon as it is obtained and the identity of the deceased woman will not be released until next of kin is notified.
