There have already been fireworks at the C.Y.O. Championships in Yonkers. Video of dramatic finish.
Rockland County was represented by five teams from all around the county on Saturday at the C.Y.O. Basketball Championships at St . Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers.
Of those five Rockland teams playing Saturday, there were the St. Paul’s 5th grade boys, the Small Fry division, and the 5th grade girls of the Cadette division.
The Small Fry team took the lead early and held it until there were two seconds left. St. Joseph’s was able to sink a layup as time expired to snatch the lead, the win and the championship just before the buzzer.

The 5th Grade St Paul’s girls took the court an hour after the boys fell so painfully. They took the court against Our Lady Star of the Sea (Staten Island) as defending champions and planned on keeping it that way.
St Paul’s came out on top in this one and the Cadettes won their second consecutive C.Y.O. basketball championship.
