As all the local athletes finish up their turkey leftovers winter sports are quietly beginning around the area. The hockey and bowling seasons have already started while other sports will be spending the next week fine tuning their rosters in scrimmages and final preseason practices.

The Clarkstown hockey team, which consists of players from both North and South high schools, faced off three times this weekend in the White Plains tournament. Clarkstown fell in the first two rounds but the team was able to salvage the weekend with a victory on Sunday.
